Just finished renovations on our Family Cabin. It has an open concept with living room, kitchen and dining facing huge windows over-looking clean Middle McKenzie 550 acre lake. Our cabin has a perfect view of the lake, with gradual elevation to the water. We have a private dock, where the water is very shallow and swimmable. Bring your boat, the public launch is a block away, or rent our pontoon for $100 a day. Middle McKenzie Lake is an amazing fishing lake for muskie, pan fish, large mouth bass, northern, walleye. We also have a paddle boat and two new kayaks for your use. The cabin has two bedrooms, one of the bedrooms has a queen size bed, the other a queen and a double bed. The great room has a queen pull out and a double pull out couch. We do provide linens, beach towels, a full kitchen, hairdryer and more. There is a huge flat screen TV in the living room with Apple TV. Wifi is available. There is also a smaller tv for kid’s movies and gaming if needed. There is a fire pit for you to have campfires and roast marshmallows in the evening (we do have roasting rods for your use) as well as a gas or charcoal weber grill. The deck overlooks the water where you can listen to the loons and watch the eagles soar, or read a book in the hammock. We do offer the option to rent our pontoon which is a 2003 Leisure with 40 hp—pulls the smaller kids on tubes for $500 week which includes one tank of gas. This is the perfect place for relaxing. We are at the end of a road with no neighbors on two sides. If you want to venture out, the town of Spooner is 16 miles away and has a very charming main street with shops including a bakery, antique shops, a train museum, bowling alley. And the Voyagers Village Golf and Country Club is 7 miles away. You could also take a canoe trip down the Namekagon River in Trego (14 miles away). The St. Croix Casino in Hertel is 17 miles away, and the St. Croix Danbury is 22 miles away. Formerly a resort lodge built in 1958, Walker's Lodge has been updated and remodeled and is the ideal year-round vacation home for families and groups to make memories. And we've recently been the location in the making of a film (but we're not allowed to release details yet)! The air-conditioned lodge sits on 290 acre Nicaboyne Lake, which is a fun, fully recreational lake between 10am-5pm. The area feels more peaceful than some of the other lakes in the area as the east side of the lake is undeveloped. When you look out to the lake from the lodge and beach it somewhat resembles the boundary waters. The lodge is set back from neighboring cabins, which were originally part of the resort, and is nestled in the woods, offering privacy. Its expansive front lawn is perfect for yard games like softball, kickball, tug of war, etc. The yard also has a shuffleboard and a horseshoe pit. Kids love the large play set, too! The great room of the lodge has a lovely stone fireplace, large bar (which was originally the check-in desk), and a piano. The dining room offers seating for 30 and is full of large windows and light. As the resort was a fully functional restaurant at one point, it also has a commercial kitchen perfect for making meals together. Right off of the kitchen is the former lodge owner’s private quarters, which has an additional living room, full bathroom, and two bedrooms. It also has a separate entrance with an amazing screened-in porch, paver patio, Weber grill, and fire pit. Right off of the great room and facing the woods is a second screened-in porch, where many love to read and relax during rain showers. The porch has a daybed with trundle for those who want to sleep closer to nature. Up the stairs from the great room are 5 lake-facing bedrooms, 4 with queen beds and 1 with a full-sized bed. On the other side of the hall, facing the woods are two bunk rooms (full over full bunks - can sleep 4 children each very comfortably - or 2 adults each). There are also 2 full baths on this side of the hall, marked as ladies and gentlemen. :) The total square footage of the property is close to 5000. We have both our weeks under contract for this summer. We only host guest two weeks each year. Everyone stay safe and stay well! Our first guest will be back for the sixth year to enjoy all our home has to offer. Our guest always comment when we meet them for a walk through at how perfect and clean everything is. Our home features 5 bedrooms and has a large loft over the garage which will be included during the summer months. The open floor plan is inviting and great for family fun, with two large family rooms no one will ever feel crowded. The stone fireplace in the main family room will provide you with hours of warm and cozy time. Enjoy the front porch, or lakeside deck. The fire pit is lakeside and is great in the summer but even better in the winter as you ice skate on the lake. Dish TV And WiFi are included. Located on Oak Lake which is known for great fishing, excellent swimming, is clear and clean and just all around fun. Don't just think summer, winter activities are great too. The guest house is above the garage in a separate building from the main cabin but also has a, 24 by 20 grand room full kitchen, full bath, and two bedrooms with 1 king size bed in one room, and a queen size bed in the other bedroom We rent to one group at a time so you have complete privacy during your stay. The owners are close by but you have exclusive use of the main house, the guest house, beach, and other amenities while staying here. Owner's are available on request but give guests complete privacy at the cabins. In the photo above, the main cabin is one the left side of the photo. The guest house is on the far right above the garage. The main cabin has all new modern updates including appliances, bathrooms and kitchens. All updates were completed in the past 6 years. The quest house is also completely new in the last 6 years and has all the amenities needed like oven-range, refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. We never rent to more than one group at a time so you have total privacy. Maximum people in the rental cabin is six. One king bed and 3 queen beds for sleeping. There is also two couches if someone wants the beds to themselves. Maximum people in the guest house is 4. Both cabins are completely furnished, with all modern conveniences. The pricing is "ALL INCLUSIVE" ( Meaning the use of our 40 ft. dock is included in the daily rates ). You can bring your own boat, use the public landing two blocks away, and use our dock for no extra cost. Firewood on site is free. ( 1 wheelbarrow per day ) We have a propane Weber Grill for guests use free. Includes Propane. We have a 3 seat canoe for use on our lake. This property is situated on beautiful Lower McKenzie Lake in Washburn County Wisconsin. The property and lake are in the middle of Washburn County Forest. We are also surrounded by dozens of other lakes, and the beautiful Namekagon River ( Howell Landing ) is only 4 miles from our property. Canoeing, kayaking, inner tubing and swimming are favorite pastimes on the river. Fishing is excellent on Lower Mckenzie Lake and surrounding lakes in winter and summer. We are on a sandy beach, excellent swimming, with a private dock for your boat. The dock and swimming area separated by over 100 ft of shoreline. The public boat landing is only a 1/4 mile from our home by water and only 2 miles by land. If you want to bring your own boat / pontoon we have a 60 ft dock with plenty of room to keep your boat at our cabin. There are several boat rentals nearby where you can rent pontoons, fishing boats, kayaks, and canoes. Informations on this is in the amenities section on this website. We are surrounded by thousands of acres of Washburn County Forest with 100's of miles of trails for hiking, cycling, snowmobiling and for ATV's. You can leave your cars/trucks at our cabin and access the trails directly from our land. Snowmobiling and X-country skiing are also are legally accessible from our land. There are many bars and restaurants along the trails. Maps for the ATV trails and snowmobiling are at the cabin. We are at the border of Washburn and Burnett counties. Maps and other local attractions are available at the county websites to help you plan for your trip. We've had exceptional reviews since we started renting in June of 2016. Our 2017 through 2020 seasons have been exceptional. We already have reservations for this winter and next summer. We had several repeat customers this year so demand is very strong. If you are looking for peace and quiet close to nature, you will definitely find it here. We have a sauna in the main house. There's a fire pit near the lake where our guests hang out anytime of the day or night The fire pit is a great place for guests to barbecue, fish, and swim. The shoreline here is sandy and the water level is safe for small children. The fishing is excellent right from our shoreline, but you can get out on the lake on and explore other fishing hot spots on our lake. Ice fishing is also very popular, and guests love the easy access to the lake directly from our property. Sunrises and sunsets are amazing on most days. Nights are cool and quiet. The air is fresh and clean, and there is the sound of Loons and other wild life during evening and early morning hours. Our property is completely private. There are no cabins visible on either side of us, and there is never any automobile traffic for miles around us because we are on a dead end road. Very safe for families with young children. Bears Lair is a beautiful lake home with 3,000 square feet on the clear and quiet Dunn Lake. Large two story windows provide spectacular views in the open family room, dining room and kitchen. The main floor open concept has an extended dining table and additional seating at the oversized kitchen island. This great room makes for the perfect family gathering spot around the cozy wood burning fireplace. Located off the kitchen is a fabulous screen porch to enjoy the wildlife and surrounding wooded area. A large wrap around deck and picnic table gives the perfect birds-eye view of all the action down on the lake. Also included on the main floor are two bedrooms that sleep six and a full bathroom. The Master loft provides a quiet escape and private bathroom. Also available in the loft is a small office and free wi-fi. The lower level walkout is the perfect place for shooting pool, playing games or enjoying a family movie around the gas fireplace. The lower level bedroom sleeps four and also includes a full bathroom. Laundry facilities are located on this level. Separate from the main Cabin is a western themed bunkhouse located above the garage. This bunkhouse is fully furnished, has air conditioning and sleeps eight. The large flat lot will be heavily used for grilling, yard games or hanging out on the dock and paver-patio. A sandy beach and a shallow entry make the lake perfect for kids to swim while you sit on the patio or lounge in the hammocks while watching all the fun. Dunn Lake is a full recreational lake, used for fishing, water skiing and wake boarding or whatever water activity you enjoy. Cabin rental includes a paddleboat and kayak. Jet Skis and pontoon boats are available for rent nearby. A Public boat launch is located on the lake.

This family-owned cabin is located on Lake McKinley which is eight miles northwest of Spooner and two hours northeast of Minneapolis/St. Paul. Warm, honey-colored knotty pine paneling surrounds you as you enter the great room. The decor is rustic but do not let that fool you--all new carpeting, bathroom fixtures, and appliances (even washer and dryer for your convenience) all immaculate. The three bedrooms are all paneled in different versions of pine and the main floor bathroom has a wall history of the cabin. Scoot down the spiral staircase to the family room in the walk-out basement with a Franklin wood stove for those chilly evenings. There is a large bathroom down here for the shower after swimming. A spacious deck on both levels gives you a wonderful view of the lake. Nearby is the small guest house with bunk beds which the kids love. Cabin Setting: The cabin has one quarter of a mile of shoreline and 13 acres of heavily wooded land which affords you a degree of privacy seldom found. Situated on point, the cabin overlooks a 105-acre lake (30 feet maximum depth) that provides excellent fishing with northern pike, various panfish, bass and some walleye present. A plus for the younger non-swimmer is the shallow depth at shoreline with gradual increase in depth. No drop offs. A 16-foot fishing boat with 25 hp. motor as well as a canoes, rowboat, and kayak are available. Area Activities: Plan a canoe trip down the Yellow or Namekagen River, both close at hand. Play golf at the Spooner Country Club or the renowned Voyager Village course, both open to the public. Visit the Tommy Thompson fish hatchery in Spooner, largest in the state and tours are given. Go to the Potter's Shed in Shell Lake and watch them fire Raku pottery or have them glaze your own pot. Hike the trail through the wooded 13 acres surrounding the cabin--you might surprise a deer. Play tennis on the Olympic-sized court right on the property. There is a basketball hoop if HORSE is your game. And, of course, fish and swim. It is a place that has some updates and plumbing, but the main focus is the family, campfires, beach and small lake fun. The buildings are older and will always have - ‘to be done’ - projects waiting on a list some where. We like to enjoy the property too, While we are working on various items often an eagle flying over head, a loon call, or a fish jumping in the lake will take over any project priority. We like it that way, and don’t want to have to apologize for little items that don’t get completed. They will be there to finish when we come up the next time. That is what this place is about. We work, and fix things so they are nicer than when we came, and enjoy life and the cabin property too. We do clean often and it is an awesome place to enjoy the woods and lake. These tiny house type cabins were built in the late 1960s and are about 550 square feet. They have characteristics and furnishings of the Ma-Pa resorts of those days and have the basic necessities of living. There is a campfire area on the beach and free use of kayak, and paddleboat. There are wildlife to watch eagles, turtles, beaver, and birds of various kinds, and fishing off the dock. We get some deer too. The property is on 1.5 acres of land and offers some privacy. The lake is small and shallow with many smaller lakes in the area. There are a few bigger lakes that can be visited if you bring a boat. Remember to bring towels and your favorite pillow, blanket, and a book to read. You can expect that you will have time alone to ponder, think, or chat with your family or friends staying next door in your 2nd cabin. Welcome to our Cabin On the bay of North Sand Lake!! We have 100 feet of sandy shoreline and we are just a few steps to crystal clear water that is great for swimming. Bring your boat. You will have access to beautiful North sand lake thru our channel which is in our bay! Our bay is super calm and great for kayaking or canoeing! The fishing is great also. Our Quaint, quiet cabin is on the beautiful east side of the bay with a great sunset. Swim, fish, or lounge to your hearts content. Relax on one of our large decks and enjoy the warm sun or sit in the shade and catch a breeze. In the evening enjoy roasting marshmallow in the fire pit. Beautiful, North Sand Lake is a 1000 acre lake that is crystal clear, its a great recreation lake for swimming, fishing, tubing and other water activities. We are located 20 miles northeast of Siren. Well laid out 1 bedroom and 1 bath that can accommodate 5ppl comfortably. Bed configuration: 2 twins, bunk bed with full on lower and twin on top. Extra futon mattress can be used in living room for a 6th person. Des Moines Lake is excellent for fishing right off the dock or out in your fishing boat and is known for Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, and Muskie. The Lake is full recreational and big enough for power boats and jet skis but quiet and low-traffic enough to enjoy the great outdoors. The large deck off the kitchen and main living area overlooks the water and is perfect for reading, watching the kids on the beach, taking in the sunset, or conversation. The deck's comfortable outdoor love seat and chairs allow you to experience the calm of the woods and lake all around. From the front porch, enjoy coffee or cocktails and experience the peaceful North Woods. But the Playground isn't just for summer use. Hunters, snowmobilers, ATVers, crafters, and quilters have great fun here too! Sleeping Arrangements (bedrooms): 7 bedrooms are configured as follows: 2 Master bedrooms with lake views and king beds (one with a small sleeper good for children and one with trundle bed/ 2 twins), 2 bedrooms with two full-sized bunks and full-sized beds (one that sleeps 5 and one that sleeps 6), 1 bedroom with two twin bunks, 1 bedroom with a full-sized bed and 1 bedroom with a queen bed.. In addition, the upper level living area features a sleeper sectional with queen bed and the main floor living area has a queen sleeper sofa as well. In total it can sleep 26 people comfortably. Ample floor space for air mattresses and sleeping bags is also an option. There are two full baths on the main floor, two full baths on the upper floor, and one and a half baths on the lower floor. Cooking & Dining in: If you decide to eat-in, the home has two fully-equipped kitchens and dining areas that can seat up to 10 guests each. There is also a picnic table, gas grill, charcoal grill and an outdoor fire-ring down at the beach, perfect for grilling the day’s catch or making s'mores. The loft is made for fun with some areas to hang out, play ping pong, or send the kids up for a movie. The cabin has been totally renovated and is ready to host your group with all the loving touches you need to enjoy your weekend “up north”. We love to share the magic of this area and hear about the experiences families enjoy – watching turtles sun themselves on the “big log”, catching fish off the dock with snoopy poles (or out on the lake for those in pursuit of larger fish), enjoying gooey s’mores, and just relaxing together for some belly laughs. Within 3 miles is Heartwood trails which offers 20 km of trails for bicycling, hiking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing for a trail use fee.
